March 3rd was an amazing day at Wayside Athletic Club. Upstairs in the cycle studio, 26 riders participated in the 2019 Pedal to End Cancer. Together, these 26 riders raised over $13,200 for the American Cancer Society!

Over the past 15 years, Wayside Athletic Club has raised over $273,000 through this event!  Senior Manager for the American Cancer Society, Staci Colby, was on site to recognize Wayside for our incredible fundraising contributions through the years! We were presented with a framed certificate that will be displayed in the cycle studio.

There are too many highlights from the day to share, but here are a few that contributed to making the event special! We were honored to have survivors Debra, Bob, and Barbara with us this year!  We had 4 children participate this year, which was incredibly heartwarming. Many family members joined us to cheer on the riders. Riders added to a Wall of Hope to share why they were riding and who they were riding for. Five amazing cycling instructors volunteered to teach during the event. They brought awesome music and tons of enthusiasm to motivate the riders through out the three-hour ride. Our top fundraiser Simon Davis, raised $2,240!!!

Truly amazing. Jamie Levin-Orkin rode in memory of her father, Barry Levin, and led a segment of the ride with a musical tribute to her dad. Jamie was also the recipient of the Leah Parker Inspiration Award which is presented to the top fundraising Wayside member or employee. Congratulations!

We are incredibly proud of what has been accomplished and are confident that we have made a difference in the fight against cancer. A big thank you to all those who helped make this event possible, from our instructors and riders, to those who donated to the cause, and to those who helped out behind the scenes. This event is a true team effort and we are forever thankful for your support. Congratulations to each of the riders for their fundraising and pedaling power.

Together, we are working to create a world with less cancer and more birthdays!

**HUGE shout out to Nia for spearheading this event.  This event could NOT happen and be as successful as it is without her.  She is the face of Pedal to End Cancer here at Wayside and we are grateful for her hard work and dedication to this event.**
