Personal Training Client
I first came to Wayside Athletic Club 11 years ago. I was near 60 and my husband was in his 70s. I had a fine trainer who worked with me on my newly reconstructed knee. My husband used personal training at Wayside and when my trainer retired after a year, I did too, as I could see the remarkable results in my husband’s stamina, balance and strength. Soon, I was getting such results as well. We worked on balance, agility, functional training, core stability, and my favorite, strength training. Now, as I near 70, I look back and see all the things my husband I were able to do because, as far as I am concerned, we had the best trainer in the area. For years, we were able to travel internationally for several weeks, toting our luggage, hopping on and off buses and trains, and generally able to withstand the stresses of travel, whether for work or for pleasure, better than our travel mates. I truly believe that we would not have been able to do all these things and enjoy life as much then, now and in the future, if we had not had a personal trainer by our side, guiding us with their personal training expertise and commitment to our continuous improvement.

Paula Lambert is an INCREDIBLE strength coach. I worked with her this winter/spring to prep me for a challenging mountain run: the Inca Trail Marathon. She zoomed in on my weak points on day one. Her assessment was meticulous but she also spent time getting to know me and all my quirks. The exercises she gave me were spot on. They challenged my body and brain but never disrupted my life or running. And they changed me as a runner and helped me fix weak links that had plagued me for years. Plus she’s so fun to spend time with. I finished the race feeling strong and hit all my goals. Thank you, Paula, for helping me get across that finish line!

“Anyone who thinks that their core stability is solid or that they need to know no more about foam rolling would find out otherwise by attending Waysides SGT class. People who want to improve their health should take the time to listen and follow the SGT trainer’s advice. The trainers at Wayside are knowledgeable and teach with passion, enthusiasm, and patience.”

“Wayside Athletic Club is an incredible playground for adults! Here you get everything you could possibly want in a health club. For me it’s cycling, fitness, and racquetball. The staff and members are friendly and always make you feel like you are part of a community where staying healthy is on everyone’s mind. I always feel at home here.”

“I’ve been a Wayside Athletic Club member since 1983 when I first started playing racquetball. As the club grew and expanded, I became more involved. I enjoy the fitness center and the group exercise classes — Zumba and yoga. I used to play in a lot of racquetball leagues: singles, doubles, and mixed doubles. These days I play mostly in the doubles drop-ins three days a week. It’s a great group of people and we really have a lot of fun.”

“The team at Wayside has gone above and beyond to ensure our safety and keep the club available during the pandemic. Everything is organized clean and socially distanced. ”

“The tennis professionals at the All Seasons Tennis Academy blend expert coaching on tennis fundamentals with support for the overall growth and development of their students. They routinely mix the rigor of competition with the joy of tennis to give kids a great experience while guiding the players to reach their full potential. Our children started at All Seasons years ago and the ASTA coaches have fostered their growth both on and off the court.”

“Why do I love working at Wayside? Plain and simple — the members. I’m always excited to teach a class because my participants always bring the energy. Whether we’re dancing in the classroom or heating up the pool, the sessions are bursting with excitement and enthusiasm. There’s nothing better than seeing a community of members smiling and having fun while working out!”
“It’s fun here. The pool is deep and there is a diving board. Other pools I go to don’t have a diving board.”
“There is an indoor and outdoor pool! When my brothers are in swim lessons, we hang out and go on the slide and diving board.”
“I love going in all the pools. There are great opportunities to learn how to swim. I love the diving board and slide!”
“I like the slide and the indoor and outdoor pools!”
“I have a lot of fun at the pool, on the slide. I love playing in the water!”
“There are different activities — the swim test to keep people safe and I like the slide and diving board.”
“The pools have different depths, so you can dive into the water. It is fun because there is a diving board and slide.”
“I can have fun and cool off and because if you do the swim test, you can go down the slide and the diving board.”

Customer service provided by Wayside community is excellent. When I was shopping around for strength training, I visited several facilities around Marlborough area. However, Wayside is the only place which spent significant amount of time explaining in detail about their services and answering my questions. Hence, it was a no-brainier to pick Wayside for my strength training. I met with Paula Lambert, personal training director and chose her to be my instructor. Her passion, dedication, and knowledge in strength training is impressive. At first, I started off having personal sessions but realized later that group sessions would be more effective in terms of repeating exercises regularly. Group training conducted by Paula consists of a few people such that she can concentrate on each member during the session. After undergoing few personal and group training sessions, I feel more energized then before. Thanks to Paula and the awesome staff at Wayside. This is the perfect example of how people can make a difference and make a place great.
